Guilford To Hold Free Hazardous Waste Disposal Event

GUILFORD, CT — The Town of Guilford, in partnership with Regional Water Authority Household HazWaste Central, has announced a safe and free household hazardous waste disposal event for Guilford residents. The event will take place on April 5 from 9 a.m. to noon at Bittner Park located at 1350 Durham Road.
Household hazardous waste includes items such as cleaners, pesticides, paints, and batteries that cannot be disposed of in regular trash. These items can be harmful to the environment if not disposed of properly. This event provides an opportunity for Guilford residents to safely dispose of these materials and help protect the environment.

"We are excited to offer this program to our residents," said First Selectman Matt Hoey in a news release. "Proper disposal of household hazardous waste is crucial in maintaining a clean and healthy environment for our community."
Residents must preregister for the event by clicking here or by calling 203-401- 2712. Preregistration ensures a smooth and efficient process for disposing of materials.
