Guilford Keeping Society Memorial Day Picnic

May 30 after the parade. 197 three mile course at the historic Medad Stone Tavern.

The grounds of our historic 1803 tavern are the perfect place to spread out a blanket, set up some chairs, and spend an afternoon.

"It's an easy-going hometown event where everyone has fun," says Barbara Johnson, co-chair of the event. There will be hamburgers, hot dogs, cold drinks, and chips for purchase, and the profits will benefit our two museums. Picnickers may also bring their own lunches if they choose and enjoy them on the lawn at the Tavern. There will be live music by David Mazza's trio. Guilford Savings Bank and The Marketplace at Guilford Food Center are event sponsors.

There will be farm animals to see, and kids of all ages can enjoy traditional games, including three-legged races, sack races, and hoop rolling. For pie lovers with big appetites, there will be the famous blueberry-pie-eating contest, with pies courtesy of Bishop's Orchards. You can also take a free tour of the Tavern and check out recent updates there.
