Guilford to Open Electric Car Charging Station

The facility will be free to residents, at least initially, officials say.

Guilford officials plan to make an electric car charging station available to residents in a parking area by Guilford Town Hall by April 15, the New Haven Register reports.

The town received two grants for the station costing $15,500. A formal grand opening is planned for May 16.

The program will be free initially to residents. The state has set a goal of having 3.3 million electric vehicles on the road by 2025.
