Guilford Police Offer Safe Exchange Location for Online Buyers and Sellers

Police have taken to Facebook to remind citizens of a safe location one can utilize when conducting online sales or purchases.

GUILFORD, CT – If you need to pick up an item you purchased on Craig's List but are wary about meeting with a strangers, the Guilford Police Department has you covered.

Police are providing the community with a safe exchange location for items purchased over various internet sites. Sites may include Craig's List, Ebay or anywhere else that requires a purchase to be delivered or exchanged in person.

"Internet purchases with local pick up are extremely popular," the department said on Facebook, "but finding a safe place for the exchange can be challenging."

The department's front parking lot has two parking spaces prominently placed in front of cameras for residents making purchases or selling items. Buyers and sellers are encourage to utilize these spots as to protect themselves from any of the dangers associated with meeting a stranger for a transaction.
