During her tenure, Jakober has promoted four of the six pillars of President Barack Obama's Task Force Report on 21st Century Policing, which was created in 2014, the town said in an announcement.
"Martina has become a recognizable department member as she furthers community policing and crime prevention by being involved with the Citizens Police Academy, National Night Out, Faith and Blue Weekend, Trunk or Treat, Project Lifesaver, Empower Program, and Recruitment," Nesci and Krauchick added in an announcement from the town. "Beyond this, she continuously keeps the public informed of crime trends, crime prevention tips, road closures, and more, by maintaining the department’s social media platforms."
Nesci and Krauchick further said that Jakober is "a valued employee, coworker, mentor, and role model," who is constantly positive and always has a kind word or gesture for others.
"She is without question, a people-focused leader who seeks to gain buy-in from others through inclusivity and acceptance. Moreover, Martina is a consummate professional who exercises kindness, compassion, and empathy," Nesci and Krauchick said.
Jakober received an Employee Recognition Award certificate, a gift card and an Apple Air Tag from Hoey.
