Guilford Provides Power Restoration Update

There are still more than 2,000 Guilford households without power.

GUILFORD, CT — There are still more than 2,100 Guilford electric customers without power, down from a high of about 5,700.

Make safe crews finished nearly all work overnight and will focus Friday's efforts on power restoration, said Traci Brinkman, public information specialist for the Guilford Selectman's office.

"We understand the hardships caused by extended periods of power loss and are committed to providing all available manpower and will exhaust all opportunities to influence Eversource’s efforts to restore power to everyone," she said.

The community center will continue to function as a warming and charging center. It will be open overnight as a shelter for those affected by the power outage. Anyone planning to stay overnight should call Parks and Recreation at 203-453-8068 before 5 p.m.

Those in need of potable water can visit the fire department 24/7.
