The single biggest issue in town is ______, and I plan to do this about it:
Combating the misinformation regarding whether or not Critical Race Theory (CRT) is being taught in Guilford's schools. It is not. Beyond dis-spelling that misinformation, I plan to bring my expertise in municipal finance to the Board to assist them with budgeting that is fair, reasonable and affordable. I will strive to make certain budgets include must have items (vs. 'nice to have') that will maintain student excellence across all grades. I will continue to academic rigor as well as the many non-classroom programs such as sports, and theater and clubs that so many students participate in. Our town has been blessed with an excellent school system that I will continue to support
Critical differences between me and my opponents:
They are singularly focused on ending CRT teaching and firing our superintendent and Dr Paul Freeman. We do not teach CRT and I support the current Superintendent.
Accomplishments:
Serving eight years on the Board of Finance
Other issues:
• We have the experience to manage the largest budget in Guilford and commit to fiscal responsibility • We will collaborate with all stakeholders to address student needs • We are leaders and champions of our public school system • We will serve Guilford with dignity, integrity, and and respect for others • We will provide a balanced approach to equity and social justice
What else would you like voters to know about you?
I have been volunteering in Guilford for over 40 years and have accumulated thousands of hours of community service
