Guilford Residents Invited To Weigh In On Draft Plan Of Conservation And Development
The 65-day public comment period is winding down.

GUILFORD, CT — Residents have until June 27 to comment on a draft planning document that will help shape land use, housing, transportation, conservation and community development decisions in Guilford over the next decade.
The Guilford Planning and Zoning Commission has opened a 65-day public comment period on the town’s 2025-2035 Plan of Conservation and Development, known as the POCD.
State law requires municipalities to update the plan every 10 years. Town officials said issues including housing density, traffic, open space and historic preservation are guided by the document.

"Every decision we make is based on the priorities set in the Plan of Conservation and Development," said Roger Joyce in a news release from the town. "We need to hear from you to ensure it reflects the priorities of the community."
The draft plan includes 11 goals and a series of priority strategies organized around five themes: Live, Grow, Connect, Conserve and Sustain.

Residents can review the draft plan and submit comments through June 27 at POCD Draft Plan Website.
