Guilford Residents Urged to Eliminate Easy Food Sources for Bears

Please, please, please bring your bird feeders in! Bears who get used to people and see us as an easy food source can become "problem bears."

Yes, it is nice to see the bears, but it will only go poorly for them if they become too used to people. We want to be able to live in peace with them, not endanger them. The nicest thing we can do for the bears is help keep them wild and afraid of people. The birds will be fine without the bird feeders in spring, summer, and early fall.
