Guilford Road Projects Postponed Due to State Budget Crisis

GUILFORD, CT - Scheduled road renovation projects to be funded with state money in Guilford have been suspended. Governor Dannel P. Malloy made that announcement stating the state legislature needs to appropriate funds for the Special Transportation Fund to get the projects done.

"If Connecticut does not take the necessary action to allow to restart these vital projects, not only will it put the state's infrastructure into a further state of disrepair, it will hurt our economy," Malloy said. "The legislature must act this year to avoid potentially devastating setbacks to our transportation system."

The Guilford project in jeopardy is:

-- Replace Bridge on Route 146 ($2.4 million).

In addition various road projects in Madison that have statewide roads and/or land have also been suspended.
