Guilford Selected For Post-Election Audit

Guilford was selected by the CT Secretary of State to have its voting machine totals audited for District 2.

GUILFORD, CT — Guilford has been selected by the CT Secretary of the State to have its voting machine totals audited for District 2, Baldwin Middle School, for the Nov. 7, 2023, municipal election, pursuant to Public Act 07-194.

State law requires that 5 percent of all voting precincts, including central-count locations for absentee ballots, have their machine totals audited following any election or primary, the CT Secretary of State's website says.

There were 768 precincts used during the Nov. 7 election. In each municipality where there is an audit, the town clerk conducts a random drawing to select the offices on the ballot that will be subject to the audit.
