Guilford Timberlands Preserve Future: Town Wants Input

The town is seeking public input on plans for the Timberlands Preserve for the next 10 years.

GUILFORD, CT — The Guilford Conservation Commission is looking for public input on the future of the Timberland Preserve.

The town contracted with a land management consultant company to create a draft report and recommendations for the preserve, according to the town's natural resources department.

Consultants aimed for maintaining the diverse forest cover, ecosystems and historical buildings, while also improving recreational experiences for the public.

Timerbland Preserve encompasses nearly 600 acres of land, according to the draft report. It provides wildlife with habitat space, watershed protection and other ecosystem services.

The meeting will take place via Zoom Jan. 25 at 7 p.m.
