Eastern Student Olivia Anderson of Guilford Accepted into University Honors Program
WILLIMANTIC, CT -- Eastern Connecticut State University student Olivia Anderson '21 of Guilford has been accepted into Eastern's University Honors program.Anderson, who's majoring in Political Science and Environmental Earth Science, is one of a select number of academically talented students being offered an opportunity to excel in areas above and beyond the traditional student curriculum.
Students in the Honors Program also participate in the Honors Club, which provides opportunities for social, cultural, and educational interaction among members of the University Honors program, as well as interaction between the program and the campus community. For many students, this social aspect has been the key to their success in college.

Being an Honors Scholar opens many doors for students, allowing them opportunities to present research for different audiences and venues. Many Honors Program students present every year at the Northeast Regional Honors Conference, the Council of Public Liberal Arts Colleges Northeast Regional Conference and at Eastern's Celebrating Research Excellence and Artistic Talent at Eastern (CREATE) conference each spring.
As part of their capstone class, students culminate their research into an undergraduate thesis with the help of their mentors and professors. Their research varies from analyzing human genetics to behavioral patterns on Twitter, from biodiversity to part-time employee turnover in psychology fields
