Guilford's Transfer Station Tipping Fee Goes Up Aug. 1
Starting Aug. 1, the fee for disposal of trash and bulky waste at the Guilford Transfer Station will increase from $7 to $9 per 100 pounds.

GUILFORD, CT — Starting Aug. 1, the fee for disposal of trash and bulky waste at the Guilford Transfer Station will increase from $7 to $9 per 100 pounds, according to the town.
Located at 1900 Boston Post Road, it's open Monday to Saturday from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and is closed Wednesday and Sunday.
Although the town has no public rubbish pick-up service, the town does maintain the transfer station, where garbage is received and compacted before being trucked to a plant in Hartford.

The transfer station is for the use of residents and private contractors who collect trash from Guilford and Madison properties. Disposal of municipal solid waste, aka trash, and bulky waste is by weight. Bulky waste includes demolition debris, construction materials, furniture, etc.
The fee for disposal of trash and bulky waste is for now is $7 per 100 pounds until the price goes up Aug. 1.

Cash is not accepted, just credit/debit cards, local check and tickets, which can be purchased at the Guilford Town Clerk’s Office or Madison Building Department.
