"The high visibility enforcement effort focused on distracted driving, hazardous moving violations, speeding violations, and registration and insurance violations," Guilford Police Lt. Tim Bernier said. The violations included verbal and written warnings, infractions, and misdemeanor arrests.
"This initiative incorporates not only enforcement activities, but also an opportunity to help educate drivers on the hazards associated with many of the violations that ultimately contribute to accidents resulting in property damage, injuries and fatalities," Bernier said. "The overarching goal is to make the roadways a safer place for all those that drive, bike, and walk/run on them."
