July 4th 2022: Find Fireworks Near Guilford

GUILFORD, CT — Cities and counties across the country continue to bring back many of the traditional Independence Day activities that were either canceled or modified the last two years. July 4 is just around the corner, so it's time to find out what Fourth of July fireworks and festivities are going on near you in 2022.

We have all the fireworks shows, parades and festivals happening in and around New Haven, so you can start planning now.

Guilford's fireworks are July 9 at dusk at the Guilford Fairgrounds, Lovers Lane in Guilford. There is no rain date.

Here's what's in store this July 4th near Guilford:

New Haven fireworks

When, Where: New Haven’s Fourth of July fireworks celebration will begin Monday, July 4 just after 9 p.m. and last approximately 30 minutes. The official viewing site is at Wilbur Cross High School, 181 Mitchell Drive in New Haven.

Madison fireworks

When, Where: Madison holds its Independence Day fireworks Sunday, July 3 off of West Wharf pier at 9:30 PM.

Madison Independence Day Parade

When, Where & What To Know: The Town of Madison Annual Independence Day Parade will be held on Monday, July 4, 2022, at 10:00 AM. The parade will proceed west on Boston Post Road (Route 1) from Samson Rock Drive to the West Wharf Road and will end in the Surf Club. The parade will require road closures. Residents and motorists should expect traffic delays along the parade route between 9:45 AM and 1:00 PM. Affected areas will include Boston Post Road (Route 1) and all intersecting roads between Wall Street/Samson Rock Drive and West Wharf Road, including:

• Boston Post Road (Route 1)
• Wall Street
• Samson Rock Drive
• Durham Road (Route 79)
• Meig’s Avenue
• Academy Street
• Copse Road
• Island Avenue
• Britton Lane
• West Wharf Road
• Lantern Hill Road

Motorists are encouraged to seek alternate routes during the parade. Residents/Visitors requiring access to Middle Beach Road, or Madison Beach Hotel should use East Wharf Road to access those areas during the parade. There will be no public access to the Surf Club or to the Madison Country Club (via West Wharf Road) during the parade.
