Lake Quonnipaug ​Management Plan Report Public Hearing Set

GUILFORD, CT —The Guilford Conservation Commission Lake Quonnipaug subcommittee will be hosting a public meeting regarding a draft management plan for Lake Quonnipaug Wednesday at 7 p.m. via Zoom.

The town contracted with ESS Group to create a lake management plan in April 2021 to provide the subcommittee with guidance on how to manage the lake. The consultant created a report dated January 2022 which provides information regarding public access and lake activities, land use around the lake, aquatic plants in the lake, and water quality assessments.

The draft report discusses aquatic vegetation management and best management practices to protect water quality and provides a proposed five-year management plan.

The Lake Quonnipaug Subcommittee is looking for public comments regarding this management plan before it is finalized. A copy of the report can be downloaded here.
