'Landmark' Juried Guilford Arts Center's Craft Expo 2022, July 15-17

GUILFORD, CT —Described as Connecticut’s Premier Outdoor Juried Show of American Craft, after a two-year hiatus scuttled by the pandemic, the Guilford Arts Center's Craft Expo 2022 returns to the Guilford Green this weekend.

The rain or shine event will be held Friday from 11 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 5 p.m. Admission is $9, $8 for seniors 62 and up, and a multi-day ticket is $15. Guilford Art Center members, children under 16 and active military are free.

The annual contemporary craft and art show, is one of the most successful and long-running craft shows in America, the Arts Center notes.

Over 170 modern makers from across the country will display and sell their fine craft in a variety of media, including Clay, Food, Glass, Leather, Metal and Non-Metal Jewelry, Wearable and Fiber for the Home, Metal, Mixed Media, Paper, Painting, Photography, Printmaking, Soap and Wood.
Popular amenities for the Craft Expo visitor include a food court, a family art tent with kid craft activities, faculty and student craft demos, and the chance to bid on donated craft pieces at the show’s annual silent auction.

Proceeds raised through the silent auction and nominal entrance fees benefit the non-profit Guilford Arts Center and its year-round calendar of gallery and school art education programs for students of all ages and skill levels.

Craft Expo is the Guilford Art Center’s single most important fundraiser, providing proceeds that support all of its educational and community programming

The show is produced in conjunction with ArtRider, which described the Expo as a "landmark outdoor show is held on the town Green in affluent Guilford, a charming and picturesque coastal New England town."
