A Lot Of Interest In New Guilford Swim Team
School officials recently reported on interest in the program.

GUILFORD, CT – Twenty girls have expressed an interest in becoming part of the first high school swim team this coming fall.
School Superintendent Dr. Paul Freeman reported that large interest in the team at the most recent Board of Education meeting.

Currently, Guilford high school swimmers practice and compete, in meets, with the neighboring Branford High School swim team.
But starting with this coming school year, Guilford will have their own swim teams – first with the girls’ swimming in the fall, and then with the boys’ swimming team starting in 2018.

Funding for coaches for the teams, which not yet been hired, are in the budget. The parents of the participating swimmers would pick up the rest of the costs involved.
For practice the teams will rent pool time from the Soundview Family YMCA in Branford.
