Man Thanks Guilford Firefighters For Saving His Life

GUILFORD, CT — A man whose life was saved by members of the Guilford Fire Department said thank you Friday. In a post on the Fire Union's Facebook page, firefighters say, "Time and location is EVERYTHING!!"

"On August 11th the crew from our newly staffed North Guilford Station responded to a reported cardiac arrest. The Medic 2 crew was on scene in just minutes providing Advanced Cardiac Life Support. After medications and defibrillation, his rhythm was successfully converted within 7 minutes of dispatch. He was transported to Yale and into the Cath Lab within 47 minutes. He has made a FULL recovery and stopped by to thank our crews today! This may not have been possible without the towns dedication to staffing and the recent SAFER grant."
