Attendees will get a glimpse into the orchard's blooming season and apple-growing process alongside a day of family-friendly activities.

GUILFORD, CT — Bishop’s Orchards will launch a new annual event this spring, offering visitors a glimpse into the orchard’s blooming season and apple-growing process alongside a day of family-friendly activities.
The Apple Blossom Festival will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, May 10, at Bishop’s main orchard, located at 480 New England Road in Guilford.
“Our orchard is incredibly beautiful during the springtime when the flowering apple blossoms turn it into a sea of color," said Sarah Bishop Dellaventura. "We wanted to share this sight with our visitors, to introduce them to one of the most important parts of our farming process, and to have some fun after a long winter.”

Each spring, Bishop’s 313-acre orchard is covered with apple blossoms, signaling the start of the growing season. Beehives are introduced to support cross-pollination, a critical step in producing fruit for the fall harvest. Workers continue to maintain the trees throughout the summer to ensure a strong crop.
The festival will feature educational talks by a local beekeeper on the role of bees in apple production, along with wagon rides through the orchard, a farm animal petting area, live acoustic music, story time, craft activities, and a variety of food trucks.
