New Bittner Park Playground Project Underway In Guilford
The old playgound equipment will be donated to Guatemela. The new playground is expected to be installed this month.
GUILFORD, CT — The Guilford Parks and Recreation Department has started the Bittner Park playground replacement project.
Officials have started to disassemble the old playgound equipment, which will be donated to Guatemala. The new playground, which is themed as "Twist & Turn," will be installed this month, Parks and Rec. Director Pam Gery said in a video update this week.
The project has gone through all the necessary approvals in town, and it will be paid for using American Rescue Plan Act funds. Including the price for old equipment removal, the cost is $406,000.

The new playground will include ADA-compliant rubber surfacing to ensure accessibility for individuals of all abilities.
