New Ownership Takes Over At Guilford's Breakwater Books

The new owner is the bookstore's third in 45 years. It was founded in 1972 by Marion Young.

GUILFORD, CT — Madison resident Liza Fixx is the new owner of Guilford's Breakwater Books, buying the popular 45-year-old bookstore this month from previous owner Maureen Corcoran, reports the Shoreline Times.

Fixx is actually the store's third owner. Corcoran bought it in 2007 from founder Marion Young, who opened it in 1972.

A former elementary school teacher, the new owner says she's honored and feels lucky to be taking over such a loved staple of the community.
