New Playground Soft-Opens At Jacobs Beach In Guilford

A grand opening event will be scheduled once the project is 100 percent complete.

GUILFORD, CT — The new playground at Jacobs Beach in Guilford soft-opened this past weekend, according to the town.

There are pathways around the rubber surfacing of the playgrounf that remain closed and are marked with fencing and cones, Guilford Parks & Recreation said in an announcement. Residents are being asked to stay away from those areas as final touches to the project are completed.

Guilford contracted with Creative Recreation to install the new playground, and residents chose the "Adventure Awaits" theme. The playground features ADA-compliant rubber surfacing to ensure accessibility for individuals of all abilities.
