Not 'Ash & Dash,' But Hourly Ashes Wednesday At St. George

GUILFORD, CT — Parishes across the country are making access to ashes for Ash Wednesday, the first day of Lent, widely available though programs like 'ashes to go' and 'ash and dash.'

And while it's not quite that, St. George Parish in Guilford does have several services, masses and is offering ashes from 7 a.m. until 6 p.m. every hour on the hour.

Here's the full schedule:

Ash Wednesday Feb. 26 at St. George:

8:30 a.m. Mass with the Distribution of Ashes
12 noon: Service with the Distribution of Ashes
4:30 p.m.: Prayer Service for Children with the Distribution of Ashes
7 p.m.: Mass with the Distribution of Ashes

Ashes also will be available during the day in the Church each hour on the hour from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.
