Road Reconstruction Project To Begin In Guilford With Lane Closures

According to the town website​, completion is anticipated by the end of the calendar year.

GUILFORD, CT — The town of Guilford is set to begin a road reconstruction project this week on Nut Plains Road.

According to the town website, completion is anticipated by the end of the calendar year. The start date was listed as April 1.

The project limits extend from Stepstone Hill Road to Goose Lane. The intersection of Goose Lane and Nut Plains Road will be reconstructed to a T-type intersection, the town says.

Additionally, a drainage system will be installed on the road. There will be over 40 catch basins and thousands of feet of drainage pipe, along with the replacement of cross culverts.

Work is permitted Monday through Friday with lane closures occurring from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., the town says.

DeRita & Sons Construction Company, the contractor for the project, will be responsible for maintaining at least one lane of traffic on Nut Plains Road as well as maintaining access to each property in the project area.
