Obituary: David A. Mahaney, 73, longtime Guilford resident

Wednesday, April 5, 2023 David A. Mahaney, 73, longtime resident of Guilford and most recently of Bridgeport passed away at his home. David was born in New Haven on August 23, 1949, son of the late William P. Mahaney and Hazel (Bogart) Mahaney. He is survived by his siblings Mark Mahaney of Guilford, Kathy Hurley of East Haven; Wendy Nelson of MS and Robert Mahaney of VT, Joyce Gonzalez of FL,and Sandra Nenninger of Meriden. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by two sisters, Lee Cartagana and Virginia Rodriguez and a brother, William Mahaney.

As a young man David had worked for Benton Supermarket in Guilford for several years and was a graduate of Guilford High School. He proudly served in the US Army during the Vietnam War. Before retirement he had for worked as a Housing Supervisor for the Dept of Veteran Affairs.

Friends are invited to a graveside service on Wednesday, April 12 at 10 am at Alder Brook Cemetery, 375 Boston St, Guilford.
