Obituary: Dorothy Newton Lott, 95, longtime North Guilford resident
The assistant in her magician husband George Gilbert Lott's act, and she enjoyed reading, gardening, and spending time with her family.

Tuesday, August 16, 2022 Dorothy Newton Lott longtime resident of North Guilford, formerly of Jackson Heights, Queens passed away at CT Hospice, Branford. She was the wife of the late George Gilbert Lott to whom she was married for 70 years. Mrs. Lott was born in Manhattan, New York on November 28, 1926, daughter of the late John Newton and Marie (Fox) Newton. Loving mother of Susan Lott of Chester and Peter Lott of FL. Loving grandmother of five grandchildren: Soren, Evan, Lizzie, Emma, and Daniel. Loving great grandmother of four great grandchildren: Nikoy, Nikena, River, and Sammie.
Mrs. Lott is a graduate of Queens College, class of 1948. Before retirement Dorothy was a homemaker and assistant in the magic act of her magician husband, George Gilbert. She owned and operated the Morris Service Company in the Lincoln Building in NYC where she worked alongside her husband George and son Peter.

She enjoyed reading, gardening, her A frame home in North Guilford, and spending time with her family. She was blessed with food and comfort from Guilford’s Meals on Wheels and their friendly visitors.
Friends are invited to a Funeral Service on Friday, August 26 at 11:30 a.m. in the North Guilford Congregational Church, 159 Ledge Hill Rd, Guilford. Burial will follow in the North Guilford Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Meals on Wheels in Guilford at www.givct.org or 310 State Street, Suite 200, Guilford, CT 06437.
