Obituary: Douglas J. Milheim, 88, of Guilford
An avid boater and fisherman and Navy veteran of the Korean War, he worked for Bethlehem Steel, and later opened Accurate Wire in Branford.

Douglas J. Milheim of Guilford died after a brief illness on Tuesday October 26, 2021 at Yale-New Haven Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of 61 years to the late Margaret Royka Milheim, who predeceased him in June of this year.
Doug was born in Bethlehem, PA, March 14, 1933, son of the late Albert L. and Helen Palmer Milheim. He was a U. S. Navy veteran of the Korean War. He worked for Bethlehem Steel company in Pennsylvania before becoming the chief engineer at Durable Wire. He then opened his own business, Accurate Wire in Branford, which he operated until his retirement. He was an avid boater and fisherman.
Doug is survived by his daughter Leslie (Stephen) Consolo of Stony Creek, and his grandchildren, Sara and Stephen Consolo, Jr., and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Richard Milheim and sister Cynthia Fiorot.
His funeral will leave the W. S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, 244 North Main Street, Branford Tuesday morning at 9:30 for a Mass of Christian Burial in St. John Bosco Parish at St. Mary Church, 731 Main Street, Branford. Burial will follow in Branford Center Cemetery. Visiting hours are Monday from 4:00 – 8:00 PM at the funeral home. For directions and online memorial see www.wsclancy.com.
