Obituary: Edna L. Thayer, 83, of North Guilford
Edna, a longtime North Guilford Congregational Church member and original Hand Bell Choir member, loved and cared for many children.
Edna L. Thayer, longtime resident of North Guilford, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 2, 2021 at Madison House, surrounded in spirit by her loving family. Edna was born July 14, 1937 in New Haven, to the late Thomas V. and Leah Clough Lenholt. She was predeceased by her husband Herbert W. Thayer Jr. and her brother, Thomas V. Lenholt Jr.
Edna is survived by her two daughters, Elizabeth and her husband (Mark) of Guilford, Jennifer and her husband (Frank) of Branford; and four grandchildren, Alyssa and Matthew Rowell and John and Kristen Cinque. She is also survived by her former son-in-law and good friend Irving Rowell.

Edna was a long-time member of the North Guilford Congregational Church, where she was an original member of the Hand Bell Choir. For many years, Edna could be found in the White Elephant Tent at the Annual Church Fair. Edna also loved children and cared for many at home so she could be with her daughters as they grew up.
A memorial service and burial will be held privately. Memorial donations may be made to the North Guilford Congregational Church, 159 Ledge Hill Road, Guilford, CT 06437 or North Guilford Volunteer Fire Department, 390 Church St, Guilford, CT 06437.
