Obituary: Glenn A. Remmers, 81, longtime Guilford resident

He worked on the original IBM computer​, the Hubble Space Telescope ​and as a Friend of Bill's, he started sober houses on the shoreline.

Glenn A. Remmers, a longtime resident of Guilford, passed away at Guilford House on May 22, 2022. He is survived by Laura Remmers, his wife of 58 years, his son Greg and his wife Paula of Killingworth, his son Stephen Remmers of East Haddam and his brother Kurt W. Remmers of Deerfield Beach, Florida. Glenn was born in Port Washington, NY on February 4, 1941. He was predeceased by his parents, Herbert K. Remmers and Irene Kelly Remmers.

Glenn was a graduate of St. Lawrence University in Canton, NY and attended Brooklyn Law School.

Glenn worked on the original IBM 360 computer. He was a partner in Madison Realty and Prime Business Properties before becoming a project management consultant working on projects including the Hubble Space Telescope and with DEEP in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina.

As a Friend of Bill's, Glenn started Catapult Services and several sober houses in New Haven and on the shoreline.

Friends are invited to a memorial service at Christ Episcopal Church, 11 Park St, Guilford on Saturday April 4 at 11 am. Burial will take place privately.
