Obituary: Helen (Abbenante) Pongetti, 91, of Guilford

Helen (Abbenante) Pongetti of 1098 West Lake Avenue entered into a peaceful rest on December 17th, 2022. She was born on October 4th, 1931 in Cranston, Rhode Island to the late Charles and Madeline Abbenante of Homestead, Florida.

She is predeceased by her beloved husband Louis Pongetti of 71 years.

She is survived by her three children, Michael Pongetti of North Branford, Louis Pongetti of Guilford, and Vanessa Gallipoli, and daughter-in-law Laura Ann Pongetti of Guilford.
She has four grandsons, Michael and Scott Gallipoli, and Jeremy and Matt Pongetti. Two great-granddaughters, Savannah Gallipoli and Jackie Pongetti.

Also she is survived by a sister Madeline M. Montana of Tampa, Florida. Two brothers Raymond Abbenante of Marengo, IL and Leon Abbenante of Archer Fl.

She worked at Gant Shirt-maker for a number of years before she went back to work for the restaurant that she loved. She worked at Chips Pub II in Guilford in 1996 and she retired from Friends and Company.

She is predeceased by a brother Charles Abbenante and son-in-law Scott Gallipoli.

Visitation will be held at Keenan Funeral home in North Branford, Wednesday December 21, 2022 9AM – 10:30AM. Followed by a Mass at 11AM at St. George Church and a burial at All Saints Cemetery.
