Obituary: John (Jack) F. Malloy, 94, of Guilford, formerly Putnam

John (Jack) F. Malloy, 94, passed away on Tuesday, June 21, 2022, with family by his side. He lived in Guilford, CT at the time of his death and was formerly from Putnam, CT. He was born in Colver, PA on June 14, 1928.

Jack was an Army veteran who served his country during the Korean War. After completing his service, he had a long, successful career at IBM. He was a talented artist, and some of his artwork can be found on the walls of his home. He enjoyed playing the organ and piano as well. A lifelong self-learner, Jack loved to expand his knowledge and share it with others. Above all, he was a very family-oriented person, though his generosity and care for others also led him to volunteer his time with many charitable and town committees.

He was predeceased by his parents, John A. Malloy and Elizabeth (Dubreucq) Malloy; sisters Jean Gallardy and Kay Mock; and son-in-law Barry Zanoni.He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Mary Patricia (Pat) Malloy (Hartigan); his children John Malloy (Karen), Kate Malloy, Rick Malloy (Ellen), Patty Zanoni, Jane Sale (Matt), and Peter Malloy (Lani); his grandchildren Patrick Malloy, Ian Malloy, Ryan Zanoni (Stacey), Allison Green (Zach), and Sebastian Sale; his great-grandchildren Logan and Evan Green; his sister Clairann Salamon; as well as many nieces, nephews, and close friends.

Arrangements will be private with a celebration of his life on July 9th.
