Obituary: John W. Morin, 76, of Guilford

He served in the US Army Security Agency in Okinawa and Vietnam, and, for 36 years, worked for the SNET/SBC Central Office of Engineering.

John W. Morin, 76, of Guilford passed away surrounded by love after a long battle with illness. Born in 1945 to George and Emma Morin, John is the beloved husband of Mary (Perry) Morin, and loving father of Julie (Morin) Heudorfer and her husband George of Guilford, and Jason Morin of Fort Lauderdale, FL. John will also be lovingly remembered by his two grandchildren, Ella and George, his sister Marie (Fennessey), brother Eric (Morin), and sister Marcie (Kent).

John served in the US Army Security Agency on two overseas tours. He spent 18 months in Okinawa, Japan and 13 months in Vietnam. John was a lifetime employee of SNET/SBC Central Office of Engineering, where he spent 36 1/2 years. After retirement he worked as a clerk at MacKinstry Financial and Investments.

John enjoyed travel, having spent some time in the Philippines and several National Parks in the Midwest. He also enjoyed hiking, golfing and spending time with family and friends. He was a devoted friend and dedicated to his family. One of the most generous and kind souls one will ever know.

Friends are invited to Mass of Christian Burial at St. George Church, 33 Whitfield St, Guilford on Monday, February 28 at 10 a.m. Burial with Military Honors will follow in St. George Cemetery, 49 Hubbard Rd, Guilford.
