Obituary: Michael Arnold Carafeno, 77, of Guilford

Michael Arnold Carafeno, 77, of 34 Driftwood Lane, Guilford passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his family on Tuesday, January 4, 2022. Mike was born January 11, 1944 in New Haven son of the late Nicholas and Fannie Acampora Carafeno.

He graduated from Eli Whitney Technical High School in 1961. He worked at the New Haven Terminal as head mechanic for more than 50 years until his retirement. Michael married Janet Nora Blackie Carafeno on September 9, 1964. She preceded him in death on July 8, 2007. He enjoyed watching sports, especially the New York Giants, New York Rangers and NASCAR racing. He was a car enthusiast and worked tirelessly to maintain the perfect manicured lawn.

Loving father of Michael (Dawn) Carafeno of Guilford , Lisa (John) Carafeno of Palmetto Bay, FL and the late Nicholas Carafeno. Father-in-law of Colleen Carafeno of Middlefield. Grandfather of Kayla, Luke, Brendan, Chris, John, Ethan, Emilie, Sophia and Sebastian. Brother of Teresa (Martin) White of Guilford.
