Obituary: Michael Santamaria, 67, longtime Guilford resident

Tuesday, May 9, 2023 Michael Santamaria, 67, longtime resident of Guilford, most recently of Palm Bay FL passed away in Melbourne, FL. Beloved husband of Linda (Wilson) Santamaria. Michael was born in New Haven on May 27, 1955, son of the late Dominic J. Santamaria and Rose (DiPinto) Santamaria.

Loving father of Sarah DeFonzo of FL, Angela Cimino (Anthony) of Clinton, and his stepchildren David and Nick Ferris of CT, Jose Gonzalez, Jr (Emily) of Clinton, and Sarah Archer (Ben) of New London. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren; Alexa and John Dube, Samantha DeFonzo, Anthony, Nico, Dominic and Ava Cimino, Eddie and Sam Gonzalez, Cheyla, Araceli and Ruby Archer. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Brother of Lorenzo (Larry) Santamaria of Guilford, Marie Cullen of Georgia, and Debra Bennett of New Haven. Predeceased by three brothers Antonio, Dominic, John and two sisters, Patricia and Jenny.

Michael attended Guilford Public schools. He worked as a chemical compounder for Arkwright (Bruning) Co in Guilford for twenty-three years. He also worked in the Deli Dept at Finest and Shoprite. Before his retirement in 2020 and moving to Florida, he had also worked at Biomed Devices in Quality Control. Michael enjoyed spending time with his family the most. Helping his brother Larry at the local Fairs cooking steak and cheese sandwiches and being at the beach.

Friends are invited to calling hours on Friday, May 19 from 4 – 7 pm at the Guilford Funeral Home, 115 Church St, Guilford. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, May 20 at 11:00 am in St. George Cemetery, Hubbard Rd, Guilford.
