Obituary: Robert “Bobby” Gozzi, 61, lifetime resident of Guilford
"A man of the earth and sea," he was a fisherman and Gozzi Turkey Farm carpenter who enjoyed competitive Scrabble and collecting sea glass.

Robert “Bobby” Gozzi, lifetime resident of Guilford, passed away on Monday, August 16, 2021. Robert was born on November 1, 1959, son of the late Bruno J. Gozzi and Concetta (Malangone) Gozzi.
He was the loving father of Amanda Lynch of Belmont, MA and Kevin Gozzi of Brookline, MA, and the brother of John Gozzi of Cheshire, CT and Paul Gozzi of Westbrook, CT. He was also the proud uncle of several nieces and nephews.
Robert graduated from Guilford High School in 1977 and later received a Bachelor of Science from the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources from the University of Connecticut in 1981.
Robert was truly a man of the earth and sea, spending many a morning watching the beauty of the sun rising over the open ocean. In addition to being an accomplished commercial fisherman, he spent decades working as a carpenter on the Gozzi Turkey Farm.
Robert’s hobbies included sport fishing, hunting, playing softball for Fonicello’s, competitive scrabble, and making jewelry and lamps from sea glass he collected over the years. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and many friends.
Family and friends are invited to pay respects and celebrate Robert’s life at the Guilford Funeral Home, 115 Church Street, Guilford, CT on Saturday, August 28, 2021 from 4 to 7pm. Burial will be held privately.
