Obituary: Rosemary (DeMichele) DeMartino, 78, of Guilford

As a nurse's aide, Rosemary treated patients with kindness and care​. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, watching game shows, and eating out.

Friday, Oct. 22, 2021 Rosemary (DeMichele) DeMartino longtime resident of Guilford passed peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family. Wife of the late Ralph J. DeMartino. Rosemary was born in New Haven on December 24, 1942, daughter on of the late Anthony DeMichele and Anna ( Guarine ) DeMichele.Loving mother of Nancy DeMartino of Guilford; Ralph DeMartino (Allison Donlon) of Guilford; Robert DeMartino (Stacey Papa) of Guilford, and Joseph DeMartino of Branford. She is also survived by six grandchildren, Jordyn, Joshua, Emma, Elijah, Nicky, and Michael. Sister of Lee Amarante. Predeceased by Anthony, Larry, Pat, Freddy, Lucille , Eddie.

Before retirement, Rosemary had worked as Nurse’s Aide at Evergreen Woods for 10 years. She enjoyed the patient's and treated them with kindness and care. Rosemary enjoyed watching her kids and grandkids play sports. She also loved to garden, cook, watch game shows, and go out to restaurants.

Rosemary loved to tell people how she met her husband. She met her late husband, Ralph, while at a ballpark in New Haven. Ralph saw a young lady in the stands. He asked Rosemary, “Hey Tex, what do you want me to hit for you.” Rosemary replied. “a home run.” Ralph only got a triple for her, and the rest is history…

Friends are invited to a visitation on Wednesday, Oct. 27 from 9 – 10:30 a.m. at the Guilford Funeral Home, 115 Church St, Guilford. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. George Church, 33 Whitfield St, Guilford at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in St. George Cemetery, Hubbard Rd, Guilford.
