Obituary: Samuel Tannenbaum, 100, longtime Guilford resident

Samuel, who practiced law in New York City for five decades, served as a WWII US Army 571st Signal Corps, 71st Infantry Division ​sergeant.

Samuel Tannenbaum, devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, died peacefully on July 5, 2022. Samuel, a long-time resident of Guilford, CT, was predeceased by his wife of 71 years, Laurel Barbara Tannenbaum.

Samuel is survived by his two daughters, Joan Pasay and Ann Bogard, his four grandsons, Julius, Marcus (Emily Ulrich), Eric and Michael, as well as his great-grandson, Levi.

Samuel was born on March 24, 1922, in Brooklyn, NY, where he spent his childhood and graduated from James Madison High School. He was a graduate of City College and NYU School of Law and practiced law in New York City for over five decades. Prior to his legal career, Samuel enlisted in the US Army in 1942 and served as a sergeant in the 571st Signal Corps, 71st Infantry Division during the Central European and Rhineland campaigns.

Samuel will be greatly missed by his family and many friends. Graveside Services will be held privately.
