Obituary: Sara Suarez Iglesias, 93, of Guilford

Sara Suarez Iglesias, 93, of Guilford, CT passed away peacefully at her home on April 13, 2022. She was born on November 3, 1928 in Puerto Rico, to a family of 13 siblings.

When she met the love of her life, Esteban, they married and lived in New York City for over 40 years and then retired back to Puerto Rico. Together they raised three children, Carlos Iglesias of Wilton, Diane Iglesias of Guilford, and Yesenia Alfaro of New York City.

After Esteban’s death she moved to Guilford to live with her daughter, and daughter-in-law Susan LeGeyt. She leaves her daughter-in-law Kathy Snyder Iglesias and her beloved grandchildren Brian and Steven also of Wilton and David and Anderson Moreno of New York.

Sara lived a full life and family was everything to her, especially keeping in touch with many of her nephews and nieces. She loved sewing, crocheting, decorating the house for Halloween and Christmas and making new food dishes after watching her favorite cooking shows. Sara was a loving wife, mother, sister and friend, and she will be missed by many, especially her family.

Religious services for Sara’s interment at Zion Episcopal Church in North Branford will be held on May 14th at 10:30 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Zion Episcopal Church or the Alzheimer’s Association.
