Participants Sought For 2024 Guilford Citizens Police Academy

The academy will run from March 21 through May 23 in Guilford.

GUILFORD, CT — The Guilford Police Department is seeking participants for its 2024 Citizens Police Academy, which will run from March 21 through May 23.

The academy provides a hands-on opportunity to educate the citizens of Guilford on the operations of the department while obtaining valuable feedback from citizens to enhance police and community relations.

There will be over 30 hours of instruction taught in three-hour sessions every Thursday evening. Training includes interactive classroom participation, a department overview, elements of crimes, laws, a range day and a patrol ride-a-long.

Classes will take place from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the GPD Community Room, 400 Church St.
