GUILFORD, CT — As police are still looking for a hit-and-run driver, they are also reminding folks to make sure to not leave keys in cars even for a brief spot at a local business and to keep car doors locked, even if away from the vehicle for a few minutes.

Two cars were stolen from businesses located on Boston Post Road during morning business hours, police said.

"The suspect vehicles drive through the lot and look for people running into businesses for a quick trip who may have left their keys in the vehicle," police noted in a Facebook post. "In seconds, they are gone."

"Please make sure you lock your cars anytime you exit the vehicle and take any extra FOBS you might have in the vehicle. These types of crimes continue to happen and are made easier when keys are left in the car," police wrote.

And about that hit-and-run: No one was injured but vehicles suffered damage. Here's the video.
