Police Investigating Guilford Condo After Complaints About Fleas

Neighbors raised concerns about the infestation.

Police are investigating a flea problem at a condominium in West River Village, the New Haven Register reported.

Deputy Police Chief Jeff Hutchinson told the Register that they identified an issue in a particular unit after a complaint by a neighbor. As many as eight condos may have flea problems due to the allegedly infested unit, and residents at the condominium have expressed concern about the welfare of their pets.

An exterminator was sent to the complex last week due to a problem that came from a flea-infested carpet that had been discarded in the trash, Health Director Dennis Johnson told the paper. .

The name of the occupant has not been released as the investigation is ongoing, and no charges have been brought against the resident, the paper reported. Animal control is investigating the issues in the condominium.
