Popular Downtown Guilford Restaurant to Close: Report
But a new restaurant is expected to open early next year in the same space.

Whitfield Restaurant, which has been a mainstay on the Guilford Green for 10 years will close its doors on Jan. 1, the New Haven Register reports.
The current owners are retiring and have sold it to Tom Ammerman, who will open a new French-American Restaurant called D’Vine on March 1.
Patrons recalled the great times at the restaurant, especially the patio area, and how close the staff is at Whitfield’s, the Register reports. Some of the staff have been offered jobs by the new owner.
