Canestri, and enjoyed gardening flowers and vegetables, Cadillacs, restoring old cars, raising and showing Flemish Giant rabbits, camping, hiking, fishing, driving race cars, and boxing in his younger years.
Richard Joseph Mulqueen, 89, died Feb. 22, 2026, a U.S. Army veteran and locomotive engineer whose 40-year railroading career included work with the New York, New Haven and Hartford Railroad, Penn Central, Conrail, Metro-North and Amtrak, and who enjoyed boating, fishing, clamming, crabbing, and summers on Block Island.

Robert Alan Jacob, 73, died Feb. 21, 2026, a Presbyterian minister who later worked as an electrical contractor, partner with the Goldratt Institute teaching critical thinking and supply chain, and butcher at Forte’s Gourmet Market, and enjoyed sailing, water skiing, grilling, singing and playing piano and guitar, dancing, scouting, baking, and Christmas music and decorations.
Andre Gervais, 83, died Feb. 16, 2026, who worked for Dresser Industries and later served as a part-time professor at Sacred Heart University, and enjoyed reading, researching new subjects, family vacations, traveling across the United States, yard work, and home projects.

Valerie L. Soden, 50, died Feb. 13, 2026, who spent 14 years with Johnson & Johnson Pharmaceutical and who previously competed as an alpine ski racer with Owl’s Head Ski Club and Burke Mountain Academy, and who loved her children deeply.
Edward Lewis Bishop Jr., 82, died Feb. 11, 2026, a U.S. Navy veteran, fine art painter whose work appeared in galleries across the Northeast, and second-generation liquor store proprietor who enjoyed fishing, clamming, scuba diving, hiking, bicycling, boating, reading, movies, hot sauce, kite flying, and following the UConn Huskies.
Russell W. Waldo, 99, died Feb. 9, 2026, a civil engineer and longtime owner of Waldo and Associates Engineering who developed neighborhoods and shoreline projects and pursued interests including boating, fishing, lobster trapping, flying as a private pilot, downhill skiing, jazz music, building and remodeling cottages, and outdoor expeditions.
Joan Marie Bartlett, 72, died Feb. 6, 2026, after careers as a hairdresser, bank employee at Guilford Savings Bank, and records department staff member for Branford Police, and enjoyed bookkeeping her husband's business and spending time with family and friends.
Helen Clark Hawley, 97, died Feb. 4, 2026, after working as a telephone operator and later in child care including directing the Guilford Before and After School Day Care Center, and enjoyed pool exercise, bicycling, bingo, and spending winters in Florida.
Susan Campbell Williams (Dr. Susan C. Daly), 78, died Feb. 1, 2026, a psychiatrist who practiced for decades after earning her medical degree from the University of Connecticut, and enjoyed reading, photography, discussing current events, and playing games with her grandchildren.
