Repair Cafe Pop-Up Event Coming To Guilford Green: Here's When
Here's what to know about the upcoming Repair Cafe Pop-up event, hosted by the Sustainable Guilford Task Force.

GUILFORD CT — The Sustainable Guilford Task Force is scheduled to host a family-friendly Repair Cafe Pop-Up event on the Guilford Green during the community’s Earth Day celebration on Saturday, April 25, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Volunteer repairers will be available to assist with fixing children’s toys, mending clothing, stitching stuffed animals and repairing bicycles. Small household appliance repairs and garden tool sharpening will also be offered at no cost.
Organizers said the event is intended to demonstrate sustainability in action by helping residents keep items in use and out of landfills.

Repairs will be limited to 30 minutes per item, meaning more complex repairs may not be possible, though volunteers may offer guidance. Attendees may bring up to two items; those with more than one item will be required to return to the end of the registration line for each additional item. Participants will be required to sign a waiver upon arrival.
Volunteer repairers will evaluate each item and determine whether it can be fixed. If a repair is possible, attendees are asked to remain with the volunteer and observe the process.
