Scammer Pretending To Be Guilford PD With Fake Phone Number

GUILFORD, CT — Police are warning residents about a scam involving a caller pretending to be a member of the Guilford Police Department.

The scammer or scammers are using a spoofed phone number that appears as the main Guilford police line, 203-453-8061. The caller identifies himself as Sgt. Roberts; the department doesn't have a Sgt. Roberts.

The caller attempts to get information by asking about issues with juveniles, and then asks money from the victims. So far, no resident has reported falling for the scam.
