Barricaded Subject Incident Ends, Scene Is Now Safe: Guilford Police
South Central Regional Swat Team was called in, and several roads were closed, per cops.
10 a.m. UPDATE: A man was found dead from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound after the standoff, according to police. A woman was rescued uninjured. Read more here.
8:45 a.m. UPDATE: The scene on Fitch Hill Road is now safe. Law enforcement personnel remain on scene for an ongoing investigation. The shelter in place request is now lifted. More details to follow.
7 a.m. UPDATE: The Guilford Police Department along with numerous law enforcement and public safety partners remain on Fitch Hill Road for a barricaded subject incident.

Hemlock Avenue and a portion of Great Hill Road in the area of Hemlock Avenue remain closed at this time while personnel work toward a safe resolution to the incident. It is requested that residents on Fitch Hill Road shelter in place while this incident is being resolved. Anyone needing assistance may call the Guilford Police Department at 203-453-8061.
Original post: GUILFORD, CT — Police reported an "active" investigation at Fitch Hill Road and are asking residents to avoid the area.

Late Wednesday afternoon, police said that they've closed several roads and ask residents to avoid these areas: Hemlock Road, Fitch Hill Road and Great Hill Road is closed between Ledge Hill and 275 Great Hill.
Two police sources confirmed for Patch that the South Central Regional Swat Team was called in to assist in the incident. Video shows, and police and fire sources, confirm a man has barricaded himself inside a house.
Nearby officials and first responders said that firefighters had responded to a house fire and the man, now holed up in another location, allegedly displayed firearms.
In a 6:30 p.m. update, police said, the roads are still closed and the scene is still active.
