Tree Work Planned For I-95 Between Guilford And Madison

Motorists can expect lane closures during the work, which is scheduled to take place over two-and-a-half months.

GUILFORD, CT — The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) has announced that a tree removal operation will be performed on I-95 northbound and southbound in Guilford and Madison.

The project is scheduled to begin on Monday, Nov. 11, and be run through Friday, Jan. 31, 2025.

To ensure the public's safety, CTDOT is removing dead, diseased, and decaying trees. Additionally, trees and vegetation that have grown into the clear zone, the safety space along the side of the roadway, are being removed. This work helps save lives in the event of a crash or vehicle leaving the roadway.

Motorists can expect right lane closure on I-95 northbound and southbound in Guilford and Madison from Nov. 11 to Jan. 31 during the hours of 7 p.m. to 5 a.m., Monday through Friday.

Traffic control signing patterns and Connecticut State Troopers will guide motorists through the work zone.

The work is dependent on the weather. Drivers are being advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this area. No work will be performed around any scheduled holidays.
