Police Identify Guilford Homicide Victim
Lindsey Hopkins, 42, has been identified as the woman whose body was found Thursday morning. The cause of death was blunt force trauma.

GUILFORD, CT — Police and the state medical examiner confirmed that the "untimely death" in Guilford is a homicide.
Lindsey Hopkins, 42, has been identified as the woman whose body was found Thursday morning, Guilford Police Chief Butch Hyatt said.
A spokesperson from the medical examiner's office said that the cause of death was “blunt force trauma to the head and neck.”

Hyatt said there is no danger to the public.
Initially described as an untimely death investigation, Hyatt said that police were called at around 10:30 Thursday morning to do a welfare check at the Lake Quonnipaug condominium complex. Police and fire arrived and found the woman With "obvious injures." She was pronounced dead by fire department medics.

Hyatt said the Connecticut State Police Major Crime Squad was called in to assist in what is now a homicide investigation.
Hyatt said that police were called to check on the person by “someone close” to her.
“That's what got us and the fire department there,” he said, noting police get their “fair share” of calls to the complex on Mohawk Trail.
